St Peter's Walsall
St Peter's Walsall 2014

‘Without the plant we wouldn’t be here’ – Read about our story from the Church of England Facebook page.

We're an inner-city church seeking to bring hope and transformation through the good news about Jesus to the Community, College & Centre of Walsall, West Midlands.

St Peter's first opened its doors in 1841, and re-launched at Christmas 2013 – so once again we're praying and working as St Peter's becomes a vibrant, welcoming church, worshipping God and loving the people of our community. Please find out more, and get involved - we'd love to see you.

Come and worship God, make friends, and change the world!

Sunday 10.30am

This is an informal service with lively worship music and practical Bible teaching, usually with Holy Communion. There's also
a range of children's activities. It lasts about 1½ hours, followed by something to drink and a chance to chat.

Wednesday 11am

Wednesday Worship Services
are a bit more traditional – so if you like hymns and some quiet reflection in the company of good friends this one's for you. It lasts about 1 hour. Refreshments are available after every service, sometimes with a shared lunch, and we also pay monthly visits to the residents of the Arboretum Nursing Home and Harden Hall.

Wednesday 7.30pm

Betel of Britain Worship at 7.30pm & Drop-In at 8.15pm
There's good music, good teaching and good company – and it's especially good if the idea of 'church' seems a bit much. Afterwards there's a chance to meet the guys from Betel and find out what it's really like to break free from addiction and live in a Betel house. Contact Betel at Betel.UK.

Reading the Bible every day as a way to know and love God personally is so important – that's why we encourage everyone to make the most of resources like Bible in One Year which gives practical, helpful and encouraging support, including readings, notes and online audio. You can download the app, subscribe with email, or just go to the BIOY web site.

Another great framework for lots of daily Bible reading and scripture memorization is the Church of England's Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer. Find out more at the Daily Prayer web site, or download the Daily Prayer app for Apple iOS or Android

We're learning to take hold of everything Jesus has done for us in our daily lives through the extended prayer John Eldredge created. On Sundays we're working through aspects of what it means and how it all helps. The prayer itself and the weekly notes from our talks are provided here for personal and community group reflection.

Eden Walsall

Eden Walsall

We're so plesed to be partnering with the Eden Network – a grass-roots community movement which serves people, and young people in particular, in tough areas. A few times a week, our Eden Team Leaders, Gav and Jem, work with local young people in Proffitt Street Park, and visit Walsall College too. We're setting up a team of volunteers to live and work here as well – do you want to worship God, make friends and change the world? Then Join Eden!
Stay & Play St Peter's Walsall

Stay and Play

On Friday mornings in term time, from 9.30-11am in the Community Hall, we run Stay and Play – it's a free get together for children with their parents/carers, including breakfast, craft, games, music, songs, toys – and support and friendship. We're open whenever it's school term-time – come and join us!
The Alpha Course

We love Alpha! Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Typically Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts.

Our next Alpha courses begin on Tuesday 12 September at 7.30pm (evenings) and Wednesday 13 September at 12.30pm (lunchtimes). You're invited! If you'd like to come, or if you have any questions about it, send us an email, or give us a ring on 01922 640955.

2nd Tuesday: Small groups where we live.
3rd Tuesday: Sharing a meal in the Community Hall at 8pm.
4th & 5th Tuesdays: Small groups where we live. Community Groups meet as part of St Peter's Walsall

There is also a group which meets at 12.30pm every Wednesday in church as part of our Wednesday Worship activities.

We'd love you to be involved. Please ask for more details about joining in!

Pub Quiz

Every once in a while we're at the Pretty Bricks in John Street for the pub quiz. The main aim is to chill out and make friends – but you can check the brain cells are still engaging as well.
